CARLO COZZOLI
Carlo Cozzoli is an Italian photographer born in Milan in 1993. He began his professional career in 2014, and from 2019 to 2023, he collaborated with various national and international agencies, providing news coverage for Italy's leading newspapers. In 2023, he was honored with the "Vergani Journalist of the Year" award for his reportage on the mental health of healthcare workers in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. His photojournalistic work focuses on documenting crises and conflicts, including the Russia-Ukraine war, natural disasters in Italy, the economic collapse in Lebanon, and the civil war in Myanmar. His photographs have been featured in major international publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Die Zeit, The Washington Post, Sky News, The Guardian, L’Espresso, Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, La Stampa, and LifeGate, Stern. In 2023, he co-founded the photographic collective Memora. In 2024, Cozzoli had the rare opportunity to document the civil war in Myanmar— one of the most inaccessible regions in the world—a project that subsequently received recognition at the Tokyo International Foto Awards. In 2025, he presented the project "Revolution in Myanmar" through a dedicated exhibition in a deconsecrated church, featuring his works printed on canvas. Also in 2025, he traveled to document the new wave of terrorism in Nigeria.
